Basketball Recap: East Duplin Snaps Six-Game Streak of Losses at Home

If North Duplin wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played East Duplin, they should've done a better job of containing Calvin Harper. The East Duplin Panthers took down the North Duplin Rebels 65-49 on Thursday thanks in part to Harper, who posted 24 points and six steals. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in steals.

The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron Hall, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 15 points and four steals. Hall is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least three every time he's taken the court this season.

East Duplin's win ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-1. As for North Duplin, their record now sits at 0-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Duplin won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Hobbton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for North Duplin, they and Spring Creek will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Spring Creek is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.5 points per game this season.
