Softball Recap: Northwood Has No Trouble Against Graham

Northwood won the last time they faced Graham and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Northwood Chargers blew past the Graham Red Devils 18-3. Considering the Chargers have won three matchups by more than 14 runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Northwood got a massive performance out of Allison Bryant, who went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance gave Bryant a new career-high in stolen bases. Emma Payseur was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple.

The victory made it two in a row for Northwood and bumps their season record up to 3-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Graham, their loss was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northwood will square off against Chatham Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Chatham Central is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.7 runs per game this season. As for Graham, they will challenge Southeast Alamance at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
