Hernando took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Monday. They never let Lake Cormorant onto the board and left with a 10-0 win. The Tigers haven't had any issues with Lake Cormorant recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Olivia Skinner looked comfortable as she pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Hernando let Macie Dever Boaz and Olivia Higginbotham loose on the outfield. Dever Boaz scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3, while Higginbotham went a perfect3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. The dominant performance also gave Higginbotham a new career-high in hits (three). Jayla Sites was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Hernando was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .440. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lake Cormorant only posted a batting average of .176.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hernando will head out to square off against Lafayette at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lake Cormorant, they will head out on the road to challenge Strayhorn at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
