Softball Recap: Fernley Now 9-1 over Last Ten Games

After losing to Red Bluff the last time they met, Fernley decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Vaqueros came out on top against the Spartans by a score of 8-3 on Friday.

Taylor Tollestrup was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four stolen bases, four runs, and four RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged two or more in each of the last nine games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ximena Rodriguez, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Fernley has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Red Bluff, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season.

Fernley didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 9-1 win against Foothill on the 26th. As for Red Bluff, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 4-4 tie against University Prep on the 25th.
