Baseball Recap: Centerville Continues Home Dominance on Monday

There's no place like home for Centerville, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They never let the Fairmont Firebirds get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Monday. Considering the Elks have won five matchups by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Centerville pushed their record up to 8-2 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.1 runs over those games. As for Fairmont, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Centerville is set to face off against their familiar foe Springboro at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Elks 2.3, the Panthers 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Fairmont will square off against rival Beavercreek at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
