Volleyball Recap: Columbia City Takes a Loss

Columbia City lost against Homestead back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Eagles lost 3-0 to the Spartans. Considering the last time the Eagles couldn't score was back in March, the team can't take the result too hard.

While Columbia City ultimately came up short, they really made Homestead work, particularly in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-17, 29-27.

Columbia City's offense was headlined by Tanner Friend and Isaac Swanson, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from Logan Hardy and his ten assists. Friend was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.

This is the second loss in a row for Columbia City and nudges their season record down to 11-8. As for Homestead, the victory was the 16th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 21-2.

Columbia City wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Park Tudor on the 3rd. As for Homestead, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Woodlan on the 5th.
