Baseball Recap: Lynchburg-Clay Extends Home Winning Streak to Ten

Lynchburg-Clay extended their postseason success on Wednesday against Valley. They had just enough and edged out the Indians 4-3. That's two games straight that the Mustangs have won by just one run.

Cole Wells made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed seven innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Cody Bell was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

Lynchburg-Clay pushed their record up to 22-3 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Valley, they moved to 18-7 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
