Basketball Game Preview: Ethan Rustlers vs. Avon Pirates

Ethan has gone 9-1 against Avon recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Ethan Rustlers will venture away from home to face off against the Avon Pirates at 6:15 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, Ethan didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Wagner, but they still walked away with a 47-43 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rustlers.

Meanwhile, Avon was fully in charge on Tuesday, breezing past Alcester-Hudson 58-24. The Pirates have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Avon's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-3. As for Ethan, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.

Ethan strolled past Avon when the teams last played back in January of 2024 by a score of 52-38. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ethan since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
