Northwestern hadn't done well against Prescott recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Northwestern Tigers slipped by the Prescott Cardinals 50-49. The win was familiar territory for the Tigers who have now won three matchups in a row.

Despite the defeat, Prescott saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Emmett Otto went 5 for 8 on his way to 14 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jackson Matzek, who posted six points.

Northwestern has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Prescott, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-5.

Northwestern has already played their next contest (against Ashland), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Prescott Cardinals take on the Ellsworth Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ellsworth knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matchups -- so hopefully Prescott likes a good challenge.
