Basketball Recap: Santa Fe Prep Comes Up Short

Santa Fe Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were outmatched by the St. Michael's Horsemen and fell 70-39. While losing is never fun, the Blue Griffins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico basketball rankings (they are ranked 81st, while the Horsemen are ranked 11th).

Santa Fe Prep now has a losing record at 9-10. As for St. Michael's, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 17-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Santa Fe Prep will welcome Robertson at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Robertson is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 69 points per game this season. As for St. Michael's, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Academy for Technology and The Classics at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. The timing is sure in St. Michael's favor as the squad sits on 11 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Academy for Technology and The Classics has been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road.
