Basketball Game Preview: Bethel Jaguars vs. Saint Mary's Panthers

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Bethel Jaguars take on the Saint Mary's Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday... Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Bethel comes in on three and Saint Mary's on nine.

Last Saturday, Bethel earned a 49-42 victory over Antioch. That's two games straight that the Jaguars have won by exactly seven points.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Saint Mary's). They really took it to Justin-Siena for the full four quarters, racking up a 97-46 win. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 34 points or more this season.

Bethel pushed their record up to 5-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.7 points per game. As for Saint Mary's, their win bumped their record up to 9-0.

Bethel skirted past Saint Mary's 71-68 when the teams last played back in February of 2019. Will Bethel repeat their success, or does Saint Mary's have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
