Basketball Recap: Cooper Shull Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Orrick

Lone Jack won the last time they faced Orrick and things went their way on Friday too. The Lone Jack Mules walked away with a 54-45 win over the Orrick Bearcats.

Lone Jack got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Cooper Shull out in front who posted 17 points. Shull's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Christopher Bates, who scored 11 points.

Lone Jack is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-11 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.8 points over those games. As for Orrick, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.

Coming up, Lone Jack will take on Harrisonville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Orrick, they will venture away from home to challenge Sweet Springs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
