Softball Recap: Mandeville Comes Up Short

Mandeville came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 11-2 to the Ponchatoula Green Wave. The contest marked the Skippers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Mandeville saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sophia Marchese, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2. Grace Richard was another, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Mandeville's defeat dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Ponchatoula, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-10 record this season.

Mandeville will head out on the road to face off against Lakeshore at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Ponchatoula, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Covington at 5:00 p.m.
