Baseball Recap: Marcos de Niza Comes Up Short

Marcos de Niza extended their losing streak to four on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 8-17 in the process. They lost 9-0 to the Arcadia Titans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Titans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-4 on Monday.

As for Arcadia, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-16. Nine seems to be a good number for they as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

For Arcadia's part, the result came thanks to Cael Donahue's shutout, as he gave up just four hits and racked up eight Ks. Donahue has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Brody Panzer was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Grant Erickson, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

Coming up, Marcos de Niza will host Moon Valley at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Arcadia, they will head out to challenge Mica Mountain at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Titans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Thunderbolts have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season.
