Football Recap: Sunlake Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Sunlake unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They and the Weeki Wachee Hornets were almost perfectly matched up on Friday, but the Seahawks suffered a 20-19 loss. While the Seahawks had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Hornets 12-8.

Although Sunlake took the loss, they still got scores from Angel Rodriguez, Grant Zellers, and Jayven Williams.

Looking ahead, Sunlake will face off against Anclote at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Weeki Wachee, they will square off against Lake Placid at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
