Softball Recap: Wrightstown Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Wrightstown extended their winning streak to four on Thursday, bumping them up to 16-7. They blew past Howards Grove 13-3. The result was nothing new for Wrightstown, who have now won ten games by six runs or more so far this season.

Wrightstown got a big performance out of Layla Beyer, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Charlie Bowker, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Wrightstown was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .361 or higher in four consecutive contests.

As for Howards Grove, their loss dropped their record down to 9-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat they have suffered since April 30th.

On Howards Grove's side, they saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andie Koenig, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Koenig has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Sierra Bramstedt was another, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one run.

Looking ahead, Wrightstown will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Valders at 4:30 p.m. The Tigers are facing the Vikings at the right time seeing as the Vikings are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Howards Grove, they are taking a road trip to challenge Winnebago Lutheran Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season.
