Dynamic duo of Max Cruz and Pete Vanderstaay lead Julian to victory

The Julian Eagles came tearing into Tuesday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 60-48 win over Calexico Mission. That's another feather in the cap for Julian, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

Julian was led to victory by Max Cruz and Pete Vanderstaay. Cruz scored 14 points, while Vanderstaay scored 17 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cruz has scored all season. Kenny Morytko was another key contributor, scoring ten points.

Despite the defeat, Calexico Mission saw an underclassman step up: Leonardo Longino scored 29 points. That was a full 60.4% of Calexico Mission's points, marking the sixth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Julian's win bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Calexico Mission, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Julian will face off against Warner at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Warner is ranked 1278th, while Julian is ranked 1284th). As for Calexico Mission, they will head out on the road to challenge Borrego Springs at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
