Central Prairie (8 Man) recap Sept. 26, 2012

Ness City extended the longest winning streak in Central Prairie (8 Man) this week by beating Hodgeman County, 58-12. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Eagles.

Macksville was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from seventh to fourth in the league. Earlier in the week, the Mustangs triumphed over St. John 54-28.

Tyson Espinosa was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 21 carries, he ran for 159 yards as Kinsley fell to Kiowa County.

Koltyn Ratliff put up the best numbers through the air as Ness City bested the Longhorns. He finished with nine completions for 106 yards and three touchdowns. Ratliff's favorite target this week was Trevor Hawkins, who caught five passes for 63 yards.

Chavez was the best wideout in Central Prairie (8 Man) this week as the Coyotes lost to the Mavericks. Chavez racked up five receptions for 66 yards. Espinosa helped Kinsley's passing attack out by catching two balls for 20 yards.

Kinsley's Nathan Frame and Chavez have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Frame has thrown for 600 yards this season, while Chavez, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 14 catches for 318 yards. Dylan Wissman from Otis-Bison leads the league in rushing with 732 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Tigers take on Jeff Chambers's team. At the moment, St. John is in third, while the Coyotes are in seventh.

Chris Bamberger's team took down Hodgeman County 58-12 last week, the largest margin of any game. Ratliff ran for 13 yards in the win.
