Football Game Preview: Georgetown Eagles vs. Chaparral Bobcats

The Georgetown Eagles will head out to challenge the Chaparral Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Georgetown will be strutting in after a win while Chaparral will be coming in after a defeat.

Georgetown lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Leander, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's game. The Eagles simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Lions 58-27. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Eagles' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 134th, while the Lions are ranked 597th).

Meanwhile, Chaparral had to suffer through a 57-14 loss at the hands of Cedar Park. The Bobcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The victory made it two in a row for Georgetown and bumps their season record up to 3-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 46.5 points over those games. As for Chaparral, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Everything came up roses for Georgetown against Chaparral in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 65-7 victory. In that contest, the Eagles amassed a halftime lead of 37-7, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
