Recap: Melbourne Bulldogs vs. Winter Park Wildcats
If the Melbourne Bulldogs were feeling good off their 49-25 takedown of the West Shore Wildcats last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Melbourne was the victim of a rough 47-23 defeat at the hands of Winter Park on Thursday. Melbourne was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 23-3.
Despite the loss, Melbourne still got an impressive performance from Addyson Turba, who scored six points along with five rebounds.
Winter Park's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sam Childs, who scored 11 points along with two steals. Childs has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Danychka Badio was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Melbourne's loss dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Winter Park, they pushed their record up to 17-5 with that win, which was their eighth straight at home.
Melbourne's road trip will continue as they head out to face Edgewood at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. Hopefully Edgewood focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Thursday. As for Winter Park, they will be playing at home against Windermere at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Windermere will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 385th, while Winter Park is ranked 164th).
