Preview: Kingwood Mustangs vs. King Panthers
The Kingwood Mustangs will be playing in front of their home fans against the King Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Kingwood will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 310th, while King is ranked 44th).
Last Friday, things could have been worse for Kingwood, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 54-36 loss to Beaumont United. Kingwood has not had much luck with Beaumont United recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but King ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They had just enough and edged North Shore out 60-58. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Kingwood's loss dropped their record down to 13-13. As for King, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-7.
