Baseball Game Preview: Hanceville Bulldogs vs. Pennington Tigers

For the second straight game, Hanceville will face off against Pennington. The Bulldogs will host the Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, Hanceville came up short against Pennington and fell 5-1. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

For Pennington's part, Hanceville's batters probably weren't too happy with Noah McClendon, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 14 Ks (he gave up a single walk). McClendon has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Connor Timmerman and Colton Walston did most of the damage at the plate: Timmerman scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-4, while Walston went 2-for-3 with three RBI. Pennington is 6-1 when Timmerman posts two or more runs, but 8-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Aidan McAlpin, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Hanceville's loss dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Pennington, their victory bumped their record up to 14-11.
