Preview: Omaha North vs. Burke
Burke (9-2) found success last week, but it has a real challenge ahead. It and Omaha North (10-1) face off this Friday at 5:00 PM to determine whose season will come to a close. Burke might be feeling good about this one after its surprising comeback last game.
Burke went up against Millard West last week. Burke's defense took a beating in the first half, giving up 20 points. That left it at a 20 - 14 disadvantage. Thankfully, the offense came through for it, scoring 29 in the second half. Mounting a remarkable comeback after the third quarter, it absconded with a 43 - 37 victory.
As for Omaha North, it can now show off eight landslide victories after its most recent game. Everything went its way against Millard South last week as it secured a 49 - 0 win. Omaha North was expected to win its matchup, but the MaxPreps state rankings did not forecast such a considerable margin.
Omaha North and Burke had some big point totals in their last games, so we'll see if they bring that energy into this game.
