Baseball Game Preview: Hickory Flat Rebels vs. Belmont Cardinals

The Hickory Flat Rebels will head out to challenge the Belmont Cardinals at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hickory Flat's hitters has struggled lately (they haven't scored a run in six consecutive games), something the team is no doubt ready to change.

Friday just wasn't the day for Hickory Flat's offense. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 16-0 to Pine Grove, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Belmont challenged Red Bay on Saturday. Belmont came up short against Red Bay, falling 12-3. The Cardinals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Belmont saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Collier Clark, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Hickory Flat's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Belmont, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.

Hickory Flat suffered a grim 15-0 defeat to Belmont in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Can Hickory Flat avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
