Basketball Recap: Centre County Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Centre County Christian Academy lost against Columbia County Christian back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Centre County Christian Academy were dealt a 66-24 defeat at the hands of Columbia County Christian. Centre County Christian Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-12.

Columbia County Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Pierce Cughan out in front who almost dropped a triple-double on 17 points, ten boards, and nine assists. Cughan has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last nine times he's played. Another player making a difference was Eli Lenker, who went 11 of 19 en route to 26 points.

Having lost for the first time this season, Centre County Christian Academy fell to 2-1. As for Columbia County Christian, their win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Centre County Christian Academy will host Huntingdon Christian Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Columbia County Christian, they will take on Belleville Mennonite at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Columbia County Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.3 points per game this season.
