California and Frazier pushed the score to 12-11 the last time they played Frazier, but on Tuesday defenses reigned supreme. The Trojans fell just short of the Commodores by a score of 1-0. The Trojans' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Weston Monticelli spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up eight Ks. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because California is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 2-5-2 otherwise.

California's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6-2. As for Frazier, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-5.

While California had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
