Oakmont had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it nine on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Wheatland Pirates with a sharp  10-1 victory. Considering the Vikings have won five contests by more than eight  runs this season, Thursday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Kaden Gaza and  CJ Smith dominated on the mound. Gaza  pitched one inning while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits, while  Smith  tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off   three  hits. Smith has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in three consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side,  Brady Fearn was  excellent,  scoring two  runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most  runs  he has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of  Beau Ogles, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-3.
 Oakmont  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 13  hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  got at least 13  hits in three consecutive  games.
Oakmont's win was  their fifth straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 10-2. Those  road  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Wheatland, their loss  ended  a  four-game streak of wins at home  and  dropped them to 7-3.
 Oakmont wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next  matchup,  an  11-8  win against Clovis on the 28th. As for Wheatland, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  contest,  a  14-2  victory against Oroville on the 29th.
