Volleyball Recap: Liberty Center Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Hope Atkinson and Chloe Mohler

If Liberty Center was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Bryan on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Tigers fell 2-0 to the Edgerton Bulldogs on Saturday. The Tigers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Bulldogs from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Liberty Center might've come up short, but they didn't make it easy on Edgerton: every set was decided by three points or less. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-23.

Chloe Mohler and Hope Atkinson certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Mohler had nine digs and one assist, while Atkinson had six kills, three digs, and two aces. Atkinson has been hot recently, having posted five or more kills the last three times she's played. Paige Hill also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Liberty Center's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-5. As for Edgerton, their victory bumped their record up to 9-6.

Coincidentally, Liberty Center and Edgerton will both be playing Pettisville the next time they take the court. The Bulldogs will host the Blackbirds at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Tigers will play them later in the day, at 11:00 a.m.
