Baseball Recap: Cherokee Comes Up Short

Cherokee suffered their closest loss since February 15, 2025 on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Etowah Eagles by a score of 5-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Chiefs of the 6-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2021.

Cherokee's loss dropped their record down to 7-5-1. As for Etowah, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 16 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season.

Cherokee will face off against Carter at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Etowah, they have already played their next contest, a 5-3 win against the Warriors on the 31st.
