Basketball Recap: Christian County Skates Past Hopkinsville with Ease

Christian County was handed a heart-breaking three-point loss in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Hopkinsville on Thursday. The Christian County Colonels claimed a resounding 68-29 victory over the Hopkinsville Tigers. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Colonels have posted since February 27, 2024.

Leading Christian County to victory were Anaysia Bagwell and NeVaeh Day. Bagwell went 9 of 20 en route to 25 points and five steals, while Day almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Bagwell has scored at least a third of Christian County's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lazarie Daniel, who posted seven points along with six boards and four steals.

Christian County's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-8. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.7 points per game. As for Hopkinsville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

Christian County will take on Todd County Central at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Hopkinsville, they will square off against Paducah Tilghman at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
