Softball Preview: Hanover Hawks vs. Mechanicsville Mustangs        
        
		
            
 Hanover is 9-1 against Mechanicsville since April of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success  on Wednesday. The Hanover Hawks will be playing at home against the Mechanicsville Mustangs at 6:00  p.m. Hanover is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
 On Monday, Hanover needed a bit of extra time to put away Glen Allen. They won by a  run and slipped past the Jaguars  3-2.
  Lillian Parrish spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered one  run (which was  unearned)  on two hits and racked up 18 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't  tossed less than six  strikeouts every time she's  pitched this season.
 On the hitting side, Hanover saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Kaycee Doughty, who  went 1-for-3 with a  double and  an  RBI.
 Meanwhile, Mechanicsville scored the most  runs they've had all season to find success  on Monday. They blew past Highland Springs 22-5. Mechanicsville might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won seven games by nine  runs or more this season.
 Mechanicsville let  Aubrey Edmonds and  Ella Hagen loose on the outfield. Edmonds  went 3-for-4 with a  home run, five  RBI,  and two  runs, while  Hagen  went 3-for-5 with a  home run, four  runs,  and four  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Mckinley Duke, who  scored three  runs while going 4-for-4.
 Hanover pushed their record up to 17-0 with that  win, which was their tenth straight  at home. As for Mechanicsville, their victory  ended  a  five-game drought at home  and  bumped them up to 7-11-1.
 Wednesday's   contest will be a test for both team's pitchers. Hanover hasn't had any issues making contact this season,  having earned a batting average of .329. However, it's not like Mechanicsville struggles in that department as   they've  averaged .314. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
