Softball Recap: Lapel Gets the Win

Lapel owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Mississinewa Indians by a score of 5-0. The victory continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Indians: they've now won five in a row.

The result came thanks to Ava Zdanowski's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Lapel saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Laylah Gore, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI. Paige Stires was another, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Lapel's record now sits at 9-2. As for Mississinewa, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 6-2 record.

Lapel didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 20-0 win against Muncie Central on the 23rd. As for Mississinewa, they have also already played their next matchup, an 11-0 victory against Marion on the 28th.
