After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Columbia, Petal was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They pulled ahead with a 25-24 photo finish over the Gulfport Admirals. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Admirals recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Gulfport's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cooper Crosby, who picked up 78 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 85 yards and one TD. Another passer making a difference was Parker Nettles, who threw for 192 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

The victory got Petal back to even at 2-2. As for Gulfport, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Looking ahead, Petal will square off against Clinton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Arrows' defense has only allowed 14.5 points per game this season, so the Panthers' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Gulfport, they will take on Pascagoula at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Admirals are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
