Preview: Stockbridge Tigers vs. Benedictine Cadets

Stockbridge is on a six-game streak of home wins, while Benedictine is on a ten-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Stockbridge Tigers will take on the Benedictine Cadets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Stockbridge walked away with it. They put the hurt on the Jaguars with a sharp 35-14 win on Friday. Stockbridge's win was all the more impressive since Spalding was averaging only 15.38 points allowed on the season.

Jayden "duke" Scott continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 163 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.6 yards per carry. Scott is absolutely dominating the rushing touchdown category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, Benedictine's offense rose to the challenge against a Titans defense that boasted an average of only 10.85 points allowed. Everything went Benedictine's way against North Oconee on Friday as Benedictine made off with a 48-26 win.

Benedictine had a senior duo take command as Bryce Baker rushed for 156 yards and four touchdowns on only 14 carries and Luke Kromenhoek rushed for 106 yards and a touchdown.

Another reason for the win was Benedictine's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for eight sacks. North Oconee's QB won't forget Herbert ?third? scroggins iii anytime soon given ?third? scroggins iii sacked him 3.5 times.

Their wins bumped Stockbridge to 11-2 and Spalding to 12-1.

Stockbridge ended up a good deal behind Benedictine in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, losing 31-14. Can Stockbridge avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
