Basketball Recap: Cottonwood Piles Up the Points Against Geneva County

Cottonwood won the last time they faced Geneva County and things went their way on Saturday too. The Cottonwood Bears blew past the Geneva County Bulldogs 75-42. Given the Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 171st, while the Bulldogs are ranked 387th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Cottonwood is also on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.8 points per game. As for Geneva County, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-17.

Cottonwood is taking a road trip to challenge Samson at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Geneva County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Slocomb at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
