Volleyball Recap: Independence Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Independence was the 3-0 winner over Santa Clara when they last played one another back in March of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Independence 76ers fell just short of the Santa Clara Bruins by a score of 3-2 on Monday.

Independence wouldn't go down easily and took Santa Clara into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-18, 20-25, 18-25, 15-13.

Independence's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-3. As for Santa Clara, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Looking ahead, Independence is taking a road trip to challenge Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Santa Clara, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Milpitas at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
