Baseball Recap: Masterman Drops Season-High Score on Samuel Fels

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Masterman). They were the clear victors by a 28-7 margin over the Samuel Fels Panthers on Thursday. The high-scoring effort was just what Masterman needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

Athanasios Mondlak was a standout: he scored five runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. He also got three hits, marking his first of the season. Michael Casela was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles.

Masterman was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .519. The last time their batting average was this high was back in March of 2024.

Masterman now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Samuel Fels, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-2.

Looking ahead, Masterman will square off against MAST Charter II at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. The Voyagers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.88 runs per game on average), something Masterman will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Samuel Fels, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Frankford at 3:15 p.m. on the 22nd. The Panthers will need to watch out since the Pioneers have now posted at least ten runs in their last three games.
