Basketball Game Preview: Whiteland Warriors vs. Franklin Community Grizzly Cubs

Whiteland hasn't had much luck against Franklin Community recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Whiteland Warriors will look to defend their home court against the Franklin Community Grizzly Cubs at 1:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Whiteland is headed into Saturday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Wednesday. They took a 43-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of Shelbyville.

Despite the loss, Whiteland had strong showings from Sophia Dyer, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds, and Bryanna Gillock, who posted six points and seven boards. That was a full 46.7% of Whiteland's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's scored more than a third of the team's points.

Even though they lost, Whiteland smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Franklin Community was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They fell 51-41 to Seymour.

Franklin Community's loss dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Whiteland, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-14.
