The Smackover Buckaroos will square off against the DeWitt Dragons at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Smackover had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Drew Central on Thursday. The Buckaroos blew past the Pirates 10-1. The victory was familiar territory for the Buckaroos, who have now won 16 matches in a row.
Ava Walker was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Smackover got a massive performance out of Taylor Darden, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three RBI gave Darden a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Emily Camacho, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Meanwhile, DeWitt never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Rison with a sharp 10-0 win. The victory was nothing new for the Dragons as they're now sitting on five straight.
DeWitt let HARLEY GRAMMER and EMMA BAZAROW run wild. GRAMMER went 2-for-4 with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while BAZAROW went 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. KHLOE LLOYD was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
DeWitt kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive contests.
Smackover's win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games. As for DeWitt, their win bumped their record up to 15-3.
