Volleyball Game Preview: La Porte Slicers vs. Lake Central Indians

La Porte hasn't had much luck against Lake Central recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Slicers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Indians at 5:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

La Porte is headed into Monday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their tenth straight game dating back to last season on Thursday. They came up short against Valparaiso, falling 3-0.

La Porte took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-8, 25-9, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Lake Central is ranked highly in their home state and on Friday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Homewood-Flossmoor. The Indians fell 2-0 to the Vikings. The Indians' loss signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

La Porte's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Lake Central, their loss dropped their record down to 7-2.

La Porte couldn't quite get it done against Lake Central in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 as they fell 3-1. Can the Slicers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
