Volleyball Recap: Springs Valley Blackhawks vs. Trinity Lutheran Cougars
Springs Valley and Trinity Lutheran squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Springs Valley had to settle for second. They lost 3-0 to the Trinity Lutheran Cougars. The shutout was out of character for the Blackhawks seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in September.
The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-19, 25-15.
Kinsey Saliba paced Springs Valley's offense, picking up eight kills. Saliba got some help from
Maddie Carnes and her 14 assists.
Maci Eckerty controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
With the loss, Springs Valley broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 25-6. As for Trinity Lutheran, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 18 of their last 20 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 28-8 record this season.
Springs Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Trinity Lutheran, they will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Indianapolis Lutheran at 7:00 p.m. Indianapolis Lutheran will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Trinity Lutheran surely won't give up without a fight.
