Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask South Anchorage). They enjoyed a cozy 62-48 win over the Cheyenne Desert Shields on Friday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Wolverines as it spelled an end to their eight-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Several Desert Shields players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Elias Santos-Brown, who posted ten points and three steals. Jonathan Castile was another key player, putting up eight points and three steals.

South Anchorage's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Cheyenne, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.

South Anchorage wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 59-49 victory against Damonte Ranch on the 28th. As for Cheyenne, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 0-0 win against Malibu on the 28th.
