Volleyball Recap: Make It Five in a Row for Steele

Steele waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Martin Warriors. While the Knights didn't have the best season last year (they finished 21-28), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Leading Steele to victory were Kaycie Lopez and Audrey Hibbard. Lopez had 14 assists and ten digs, while Hibbard had 16 digs and one assist. Those 16 digs gave Hibbard a new career-high. Avery Nelson also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Steele's win bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Martin, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season.

Steele has already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Katy Taylor on the 23rd. As for Martin, they will take on Bishop Lynch at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
