Century takes loss despite strong efforts from Alyssa Loza and Abbie Scharringhausen

Recap: Century Jaguars vs. Liberty Falcons

The Century Jaguars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 62-25 loss at the hands of Liberty. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Century has scored all season.

Despite the defeat, Century had strong showings from Abbie Scharringhausen, who scored two points along with 18 rebounds and four steals, and Alyssa Loza, who scored six points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Phillips, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds.

Even though they lost, Century smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Century has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season. As for Liberty, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-14.

Century will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Forest Grove at 5:45 p.m. Century is coming into the contest with three straight losses at home, meaning Forest Grove will have to defend against a team hungry for a win. As for Liberty, they will head out on the road to face off against Newberg at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Oregon (Newberg is ranked 82nd, while Liberty is ranked 92nd).
