Basketball Preview: Massanutten Military Academy Colonels vs. Fishburne Military Caissons
Massanutten Military Academy is 2-8 against the Caissons since December of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Massanutten Military Academy Colonels will stay at home for another game and welcome the Fishburne Military Caissons at 5:00 p.m. on February 5th. Massanutten Military Academy will be strutting in after a win while the Caissons will be coming in after a defeat.
Massanutten Military Academy scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They came out on top against Mountain View Christian Academy by a score of 53-44. The win was just what Massanutten Military Academy needed coming off of a 77-27 loss in their prior match.
Meanwhile, Fishburne Military's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Carlisle, falling 87-58. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (56), Fishburne Military still had to take the loss.
Massanutten Military Academy's win ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-9. As for Fishburne Military, their loss dropped their record down to 1-16.
Massanutten Military Academy took a serious blow against the Caissons when the teams last played back in January of 2023, falling 63-36. Can Massanutten Military Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
