The Somerset Eagles will face off against the Bishop McCort Crushers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Somerset is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.1 runs per game this season.

Somerset barely beat Bishop Carroll the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Eagles never let the Huskies get on the board and left with a 14-0 victory on Thursday. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Huskies recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Zane Hagans and Kahne Foltz did most of the damage at the plate: Hagans went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run, while Foltz went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that Hagans has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Max Means, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

Somerset hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in nine consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Bishop McCort narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Bellefonte 6-5.

Bishop McCort has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Somerset, their victory was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-1.

Everything went Somerset's way against Bishop McCort in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Somerset made off with a 10-2 win. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Crushers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
