Basketball Game Preview: North Pole Patriots vs. Juneau-Douglas Crimson Bears

North Pole is 0-3 against Juneau-Douglas since December of 2018 but things could change on Friday. The North Pole Patriots just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Juneau-Douglas Crimson Bears at 5:00 p.m. North Pole will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

On Thursday, North Pole didn't have too much trouble with Ketchikan as they won 35-20.

Meanwhile, Juneau-Douglas faced Monroe Catholic in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. Juneau-Douglas took a 40-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of Monroe Catholic. The Crimson Bears' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

North Pole pushed their record up to 15-7 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.0 points over those games. As for Juneau-Douglas, their loss dropped their record down to 15-6.

North Pole ended up a good deal behind Juneau-Douglas in their previous matchup back in December of 2018, losing 45-30. Can North Pole avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
