Basketball Game Preview: Blanco Panthers vs. Junction Eagles

The Blanco Panthers will take on the Junction Eagles at 1:15 p.m. on Saturday. Junction took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Blanco, who comes in off a win.

It was a proper cat-fight when Blanco took on Medina on Tuesday. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 48-24 margin over the Bobcats. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Panthers just coasted through the last quarter.

Ashton Uballe had an outrageously good game as she dropped a double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 14 games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Kinley Boyd, who went 6-for-14 to rack up 13 points.

Blanco was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Meanwhile, Junction played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 40-16 to Ingram Moore. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Blanco has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 57 points this season. As for Junction, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Blanco strolled past Junction when the teams last played back in December of 2016 by a score of 48-31. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
