Volleyball Recap: Sickles Gryphons vs. East Lake Eagles
Sickles and East Lake squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Sickles had to settle for second. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the East Lake Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Gryphons of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2022.
While Sickles had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-20, 14-25, 25-22.
Amaya Robinson paced Sickles' offense, picking up 15 kills. Robinson got some help from
Ava O'Hare and her 17 assists.
Gladyanne Lasanta controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
Sickles' loss dropped their record down to 15-11. As for East Lake, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.
Sickles does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for East Lake, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Steinbrenner on the 26th.
