Softball Game Preview: Maui Sabers vs. Baldwin Bears

Maui hasn't had much luck against Baldwin recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Maui Sabers will venture away from home to face off against the Baldwin Bears at 4:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

Maui is headed out to face Baldwin after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. Maui came out on top against Lahainaluna by a score of 14-10 on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Baldwin got themselves on the board against Kamehameha Maui on Saturday, but Kamehameha Maui never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 17-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bears.

Shaileah Brown (Shai) made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Brown (Shai) was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one triple and two RBI.

In other batting news, Ka'Ala Kaho'Ohalahala-Watan was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Kekia Kaaa-Saltiban, who fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-2.

Maui suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Baldwin when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can Maui avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
